Renewable Energy Administrator

SRECTrade, Inc. is an online brokerage platform for Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SRECs), a key component of making solar energy affordable in a growing number of U.S. states. An SREC is credited for every megawatt-hour of electricity produced by a solar facility and can be sold to energy companies who need them to meet statewide solar energy requirements. SRECTrade helps solar facility owners obtain the proper approval to sell SRECs, facilitates the buying and selling of SRECs, provides software to track account and transaction histories and offers the leading market research product in the industry.

We have over 12,000 customers using our services to register, track and sell the SRECs produced by their solar facilities. Our client base ranges from residential home owners to large commercial solar facilities to lease companies. Our renewable energy administration team leads the customer relationship process by setting solar PV systems up in our internal database and obtaining the proper state certifications to sell SRECs. A great deal of effort is required to qualify solar facilities in the various states and since the certification process is so complicated, answering client and installer questions is a crucial part of the renewable energy administration team’s work.

We are looking for an energetic and process driven individual to lead our renewable energy administration team. The position will require technical skill to understand the complex processes associated with our operations, the attention to detail needed to ensure that SREC certification applications are submitted to the proper regulatory agencies in an accurate and timely manner, and the ability to provide a high level of customer service to our clients, installer partners, regulators, and vendors.


  • Become an expert in complex state solar certification rules and procedures
  • Manage workflow and supervise the activities of 4-5 part-time contract renewable energy administration associates.
  • Make sure all incoming client applications are processed in an accurate and timely manner. Applications often come to us in large quantities under very stringent deadlines so a fast and precise turnaround time to the appropriate regulatory agency is crucial.
  • Oversee the state certification process of solar PV and solar thermal systems to participate in the renewable energy programs in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington DC, Ohio, Delaware, and Massachusetts. Coordinate the registration of these systems in the appropriate tracking registry once certifications are issued.
  • Engage regulatory staff at the following agencies: Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources, Maryland Public Service Commission, Delaware Public Service Commission, Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission, New Jersey Board of Public utilities, Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, and Washington DC Public Service Commission to discuss changes to Renewable Energy Portfolio Standards (RPS) programs and then convey this information to installers, solar owners and developers in an easily understandable format through blog posts, memos, and one on one conversations.
  • Provide ongoing support to our existing client base by making sure that system expansions, home sales, and equipment changes are reflected in our database and reported to the appropriate state agencies so no loss of SRECs is incurred.
  • Monitor meter readings made to the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center Production Tracking System (PTS) by our Massachusetts clients and their representatives so that their SRECs are accurately minted each quarter. Any discrepancies will need to be researched and resolved.
  • Continually streamline the application and certification process. Work closely with our web development group to automate as many applications processes as possible.
  • Prepare and present Microsoft PowerPoint presentations to support the installer relationship manager and brokerage team in winning new business as well as present online seminars to our client base.
  • Provide prompt and excellent customer service to our clients and installers via telephone and email by answering their questions and following up on outstanding issues to complete their certifications.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Salesforce is a huge plus
