Solar Renewable Energy Credit Broker

SRECTrade, Inc. is an online brokerage platform for Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SRECs), a key component of making solar energy affordable in a growing number of U.S. states. An SREC is credited for every megawatt-hour of electricity produced by a solar facility and can be sold to energy companies who need to purchase them to meet statewide solar energy requirements. SRECTrade helps customers buy and sell SRECs and provides robust software to facilitate the transaction and management of SRECs.

We are looking for someone with the entrepreneurial attitude to work hard to grow our business. Desire to work closely with many external parties to execute transactions is necessary. Familiarity with existing market players helps, but not nearly as much as a strong drive to perform. You must be a strong communicator.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage relationships

  • Source, establish, and cultivate new buy side clients (i.e. electricity suppliers, utilities, financial intermediaries) and sell side clients (i.e. PPA firms, leasing companies, project developers, corporate/commercial system owners)
  • Consult with clients and understand their SREC transaction and management needs
  • Provide advice, information, and structure solutions given current market conditions
  • Sell transaction and management services
  • Onboard clients (i.e. initiate negotiations for engagement letters and management agreements)
  • Provide ongoing client support and account management

Maintain and develop market knowledge

  • Knowledge of regulatory environment imperative
  • Recognize drivers in the markets SRECTrade covers (PJM and MA Solar RPS)
  • Conduct and prepare research on supply and demand dynamics, regulatory changes, and pricing trends

Execute and Manage Transactions

  • Match buyers and sellers
  • Structure deals and execute orders
  • Consult with buyers and sellers through contracting process, facilitate credit and commercial solutions as needed
  • Track contracting progress and ensure deals are invoiced and settled in a timely fashion

Identify new service and product offerings

  • Understand and track solar and renewable energy markets to identify new business opportunities
  • Work with internal legal, operations, sales, and technology teams to execute on new business lines
  • Establish and negotiate relationships with potential partners as needed

What we're looking for

Must haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
  • Excellent communication skills, friendly demeanor and a welcome presence with clients
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Salesforce is a huge plus
  • Travel for conferences and client meetings as needed

Location

  • San Francisco, CA
  • Remote locations will be taken into consideration
  • Requirement to work East Coast hours
