If you are unfamiliar with the GATS transition, it is a result of a change made by the New Jersey Office of Clean Energy. When the SREC program was initially implemented, New Jersey contracted the management of that program to Clean Power Markets. That contract expires this summer and New Jersey has selected GATS to manage the program moving forward. As a result, all account holders are being transitioned to the new platform. Provided below is information on the options available to you for this transition.
All NJCEP accounts are being moved to GATS If you did not choose to partake in one of the Early Transition options, you will be able to open a GATS account in July to begin recording energy production occuring on or after June 1. You will not need to establish a GATS account prior to the transition. Instead, an account will be created for you and you will be notified when it is ready. At that point you will need to log in to complete your account set up. You will still be able to utilize your Clean Power Markets account to sell your remaining 2009 energy year certificates until September when the true-up period ends.
