SRECTrade brings unparalleled expertise to the transaction of SRECs for institutional solar clients. With access to credit worthy electricity suppliers across the seven major SREC markets, SRECTrade has a significant presence in all states with a solar carve out requirement. Additionally, SRECTrade can provide customized solutions tailored to the needs of a project’s risk profile. Contracts can be structured to take a portfolio approach to monetizing SRECs. This allows clients to manage SREC monetization through a combination of forward and spot market sales.

Institutional SREC Services

Our Institutional SREC services are designed for projects 250 kW and greater. These projects are typicaly capable of meeting the project size and credit requirements necessary to execute bilateral contracts directly with Electricity Suppliers and Load-Serving Entities with SREC compliance requirements.

RFP Services

Credit-worthy long-term offtake agreements are key to the success of any large solar project. There is no better way to guarantee 10-15 year SREC contracts than through utility-sponsored RFPs. SRECTrade specializes in tracking and submitting proposals for RFPs on behalf of our clients.

Bi-lateral Forward Contracts

SRECTrade works with clients to provide forward contract solutions to ensure stable project cash flows. Projects must go through a due diligence and qualification process prior to being brought to market. It is crucial that certain hurdles in the development process have been met prior to introducing the opportunity to prospetive buyers. Contract price and terms are contingent upon market conditions and negotiations directly with buyers.

OTC Spot Market Transactions

Spot market transactions are an essential part of any project. Some developers take a portfolio approach and actively utilize the spot, while most will utilize the spot market for excess SREC production. Spot sales can be transacted on a monthly basis through the SRECTrade auction platform or contracted bilaterally over the counter.

SREC Management Services

System owners and developers can utilize SRECTrade’s SREC Management Services to manage and administer the state certification and registry account enrollment process. Each system managed by SRECTrade will have access to an integrated online account. Online accounts present the following information in a seemless user interface:

  • Monthly generation history - month by month historic generation is provided, showing in month generation, prior period carryover, total generation, SRECs created, and any remaining generation to roll over to future periods
  • Transaction history - both summary information and detailed transaction statements can be accessed at any time

Additionally, SRECs transacted in a forward contract can be delivered and transferred by SRECTrade as negotiated between buyer and seller. All excess SRECs not contracted forward can be reserved for spot market sales.

SRECTrade manages the administration process required by other regulatory agencies for projects greater than 1 MW.
