Client Solutions Associate

SRECTrade provides cloud-based services to the clean energy industry with an expertise in managing, transacting, and processing environmental incentives. The Company’s mission is to accelerate the adoption of clean energy assets by providing services and technology that minimize the time, cost, and risk associated with achieving benefits and compliance in energy markets. The Company facilitates the brokerage of spot and forward contract Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs), Renewable Energy Credits (RECs), and Alternative Energy Credits (AECs).

The Company’s clients cover a variety of market participants including electricity and energy suppliers, utilities, clean energy project developers, installation companies, and individual commercial and residential asset owners. Since 2008, SRECTrade has been a domain expert in solar and renewable energy markets, bringing a wealth of knowledge and transparency to some of the fastest growing state markets in the clean energy industry.

Who we're looking for

We are looking for an ambitious and process driven individual to join our Client Solutions Team. The position will require technical skills to understand the complex processes associated with our operations, the attention to detail needed to ensure that SREC, REC, and AEC certification applications are submitted to the proper regulatory agencies in an accurate and timely manner, and the ability to provide a high level of client service to our clients, installer partners, regulators, and vendors, all while possessing the ever-so-important knack for putting a smile on the face of our clients as you interact with them over the phone.

Responsibilities

Develop knowledge and understanding of SREC markets and state and renewable energy certification rules and procedures

  • Become an expert in complex state solar and renewable energy certification rules and procedures
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of SREC markets and how SRECTrade provides services to system owners within the framework of each state
  • Work with clients to assist them in understanding how SREC markets function

Process incoming applications in an accurate and timely manner

  • Assist in the state certification process of solar PV, solar thermal, and other renewable systems to participate in the renewable energy programs in Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Ohio, Pennsylvania, The District of Columbia, and other future states
  • Coordinate the registration of state certified systems in the appropriate tracking registry
  • Assist with any other work necessary to process applications and to continue supporting our existing client base, along with entering into new states and markets

Answer daily support questions by phone and email

  • Provide prompt and excellent client services to our clients and installers via telephone and email by answering their questions and following up on outstanding issues to complete their certifications
  • Facilitate client understanding and usage of SRECTrade online accounts
  • Assist in new client onboarding process including describing and selling services
  • Provide solutions to client inquiries about account status and transactions

Understand, execute, and improve operational tasks

  • Help with monthly solar meter generation reporting and uploads
  • Continually streamline the application and certification process by working closely with our Development team to automate application processes
  • Effectively communicate issues and create solutions with co-workers to advance our overall service and business

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Comparable Experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), PDF programs, and Salesforce a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with a friendly demeanor and a welcome presence with clients
  • Desire to work in a high-volume client service environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Can do attitude. Happy to roll up your sleeves and get the job done. Willing to take on ad hoc tasks and wear multiple hats if needed.
