Client Solutions Intern

SRECTrade provides cloud-based services to the clean energy industry with an expertise in managing, transacting, and processing environmental incentives. The Company’s mission is to accelerate the adoption of clean energy assets by providing services and technology that minimize the time, cost, and risk associated with achieving benefits and compliance in energy markets. The Company facilitates the brokerage of spot and forward contract Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs), Renewable Energy Credits (RECs), and Alternative Energy Credits (AECs).

The Company’s clients cover a variety of market participants including electricity and energy suppliers, utilities, clean energy project developers, installation companies, and individual commercial and residential asset owners. Since 2008, SRECTrade has been a domain expert in solar and renewable energy markets, bringing a wealth of knowledge and transparency to some of the fastest growing state markets in the clean energy industry.

Who we're looking for

In this internship you will join our Client Solutions Team and be responsible for managing day to day client service issues and operational tasks. We are looking for someone with the technical skills to understand the complex processes associated with our markets and operations, the attention to detail to execute vital monthly tasks and the ever-so-important knack for putting a smile on the face of the people he or she interacts with over the phone.


Develop knowledge and understanding of markets

  • Understand and learn how markets function and how SRECTrade provides services to system owners within the framework of each program
  • Work with clients to assist them in understanding how markets function
  • Create content for blog posts to update clients on important regulatory and energy capacity news

Answer daily client support questions by phone and email

  • Assist in new client onboarding process including describing and selling services, completing renewable energy facility applications, and setting up accounts
  • Facilitate client understanding and usage of SRECTrade online accounts
  • Provide solutions to client inquiries about account status and transactions
  • Support maintenance and day to day management of existing relationships with solar installation partners

Understand, execute, and improve operational tasks

  • Help with monthly solar meter generation reporting and uploads
  • Coordinate and work with administration, operations, sales, and web development teams to implement enhancements
  • Effectively communicate issues and create solutions with co-workers to advance our overall service and business
  • Find ways to work more efficiently in a small, fast-paced, and high performing environment

What we’re looking for

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree or Comparable Experience
  • Excellent communication skills, friendly demeanor and a welcome presence with clients
  • Client service, account management, or operations experience is a plus
  • Self-starter, strong sense of accountability, and determined to succeed both individually and within a team
  • Can do attitude. Happy to roll up your sleeves and get the job done. Willing to take on ad hoc tasks and wear multiple hats if needed.
